GENERAL EVENT REQUIREMENTS \n1.A. Player Attendance and Check-in: \n1.A.1. Arrival & Warm-up: The venue opens at 5:00 PM for player check-in and general warm-ups. \n1.A.2. Tournament Start: Official tournament matches will begin promptly at 5:30 PM. \n1.A.3. Check-in Deadline: Teams must be officially checked in by 5:15 PM. Failure to meet this deadline falls under the Late Start Policy (Rule 8.A).\n2. ELIGIBILITY & FORMAT OVERVIEW \n2.A. Division: Open Doubles (Open Level - No level requirement). \n2.B. Pre-requisite: Participants must have been in a continuous relationship for at least the past 12 months. Teams must provide proof of relationship authenticity if questioned by organizers.\n2.C. Format: \n2.C.1. Pool Play (Round Robin): 7 teams per pool , 2 pools in total. Each team plays 6 matches within their pool. \n2.C.2. Final Four: The top 3 teams of each pool advances to a Single Elimination bracket (Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Battle for 3rd, and Grand Finals). The top seeds per pool advance straight to the semi finals. 2nd and 3rd teams will face off in the quarter finals.\n3. MATCH PLAY AND SCORING \n3.A. Scoring Type: Games use standard Side-out scoring. \n3.B. Game Targets: \n3.B.1. Pool Play Games: Race to 11 points. No Deuce (win by 1 point). \n3.B.2. Playoff Games: Race to 11 points. No Deuce (win by 1 point). \n3.C. Score Call-out Protocol: \n3.C.1. Requirement: Before every serve, the serving team must clearly call out the score (Server's score - Opponent's score - Server number: 1 or 2). \n3.C.2. Opponent Acknowledgement: The receiving team must acknowledge the score call-out before the server is permitted to initiate the service motion. \n3.D. Match Duration: While games are not strictly limited by a clock, players should aim to complete matches within a 20-minute window to maintain the schedule.\n3.E. Pre-Game Rock-Paper-Scissors:\n3.E.1. Execution: Before starting the 3-minute warm-up, opposing teams will perform a \"Rock-Paper-Scissors\" (RPS) contest. \n3.E.2. Winner's Options: The winner of the RPS may choose between serving first, to receive first, or to choose which side of the court to start on. \n3.E.3. Remaining Options: The loser of the RPS chooses the remaining option (e.g., if the winner chooses to serve\u002Freceive, the loser chooses the side, if the winner chooses the side, the loser chooses serve or receive. ).\n4. WARM-UPS AND TIMING \n4.A. Dedicated Warm-up Hour: 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM is reserved for player check-in, court familiarization and warm ups. \n4.B. In-Match Warm-ups: Once the tournament starts at 5:30 PM, no further warm-ups are permitted at the start of the matches.\n5. SELF-OFFICIATING & PLAYER CONDUCT\n5.A. Standards of Conduct: Matches are entirely self-officiated. Players must uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship. Aggressive behavior or poor spirit will result in a warning or removal from the event.\n5.B. Line Calling Ethics: The \"Clear View\" Rule: Call a ball \"out\" only if you clearly see space between the ball and the line. If there is any doubt or the view is obstructed, the ball is in.\n5.B.1. Benefit of the Doubt: All close calls or uncertainties must be resolved in favor of the opponent.\n5.B.2. Partner Overrule: Should partners not agree on whether the call is “in” or “out”, the ball must be called “in”\n5.B.3. No Spectator Involvement: Players may not ask spectators or players on adjacent courts for help with a call. Only the four players on the court are involved.\n5.C. Scoring Authority: The Server is responsible for announcing the score clearly before each point. Both teams should track the score internally; in the event of a disagreement that cannot be resolved, players should refer to the last score both teams agreed upon.\n5.D. Dispute Resolution Protocol: 10-Second Resolution: Players have 10 seconds to reach an amicable agreement on a call or score.\n5.D.1. The Replay Rule: If the players remain deadlocked and cannot agree on whether a ball was in or out, the point must be replayed.\n5.D.2. Final Recourse: If a dispute regarding rules or conduct persists, players must pause the match and seek the Tournament Director for a final ruling.\n6. EQUIPMENT RULES\n6.A. Game Balls: Official tournament balls will be provided by the organizer and must be used for all matches. \n6.B. Paddles: Any standard pickleball paddle is permitted. Players are not required to use USA Pickleball (USAP) approved paddles.\n7. COURT MANAGEMENT \n7.A. Readiness: Teams are not required to move to specific courts in a set rotation but must remain ready for their \"match call.\" \n7.B. Immediate Reporting: Teams must report to their assigned court immediately after their match is called. \n7.C. Score Recording: After each completed match, scores must be reported to the tournament organizers immediately for record keeping.\n8. FORFEIT AND ABSENCE POLICY (THE FAIRNESS RULE) \n8.A. Late Start Policy: If a team is not present by the start of their first scheduled match: \n8.A.1. Penalty: The team forfeits the missed match and is automatically ineligible for the Playoffs. \n8.A.2. Primary Rank: Matches Won (Highest number of total wins in Pool Play). \n10.B. Tie-Breaker 1: Head-to-Head Result (Winner of the match played between the two tied teams). \n10.C. Assumption of Risk: All participants acknowledge and accept that pickleball involves inherent risks of physical injury. \n12.B. Physical Fitness: Participants confirm they are physically fit and medically cleared for tournament play. \n12.C. Liability Waiver: Participants agree that the organizer will not be held liable for any injuries, losses, or damages sustained before, during, or after the event. All injury management is the sole responsibility of the participant.\n13. WITHDRAWAL AND REFUND POLICY \n13.A. Withdrawal Request: All requests must be submitted in writing. \n13.B. Non-Transferable: Tournament slots are not transferable to other players or teams. \n13.C.
