🧩 FORMAT & GUIDELINES

1. Team Composition
• Each team consists of 3 players (A, B, C)
• Teams are grouped according to TPH categories:
• Beginner Division
• Novice Division

Each division will have 8 teams, divided into 2 pools of 4 teams.

2. Pool Play Format
• Each division will be divided into 2 pools of 4 teams
• Teams will play a round robin within their pool
• Every team will face all other teams in their pool

3. Match Structure (TRIO FORMAT)

Each team-vs-team matchup consists of 3 games, played using different player pairings:
1. Game 1: A & B
2. Game 2: A & C
3. Game 3: B & C

A coin toss before each matchup will determine:
• Which team reveals their first pair
• Which team serves first
• Which team chooses the court end

All three games must be played to complete the matchup.

4. Advancement to Playoffs
• After round robin pool play, the Top 2 teams from each pool will advance to the playoffs
• Rankings within each pool will be determined by:
1. Game wins
2. Head-to-head results
3. Total points scored

5. Playoff Format
• Semi-finals
• 3rd Place Match
• Championship Match

Pairing Rules in Playoffs
• Teams may choose which pair to field in playoff games
• A player pairing used in the semi-final may not be used again in the championship or 3rd place match

6. Scoring System

Round Robin Matches
• Rally scoring
• First to 15 points
• Change ends at 8 points
• 1 timeout per team

Playoff Matches
• Rally scoring
• First to 21 points
• Change ends at 11 points

7. Default & Injury Rules
• Teams not on court within 5 minutes of match announcement will be declared default
• Default score: 15–0

In case of injury:
• One 5-minute medical timeout
• Tournament Director decides if the player may continue

8. General Rules
• Players call their own line calls
• Officials may overturn calls if necessary
• Ball interference: rally stopped and replayed
• Obstruction (rope, post, support): ball is OUT

Unless stated above, all matches will follow USAP Official Rules 2026.
