HOW TO JOIN THE SESSION
Challenge • Compete • Earn Your Spot
The group has a maximum of 44 players per session. When the session reaches full capacity, new players can earn a spot through a Challenge Match.
1. Benchmark Players
Benchmark Players are the bottom 4 ranked players among the confirmed group players.
They represent the current entry-level benchmark of the group.
Benchmark status is not permanent. Any player may become a Benchmark Player if their ranking moves into the bottom 4.
Benchmark Players must be prepared to defend their spot when challenged.
Challengers may choose whom they want to challenge.
Benchmark Players will naturally be the main challenge targets because they currently hold the lowest-ranked positions.
2. Challenge Match
A player who wants to enter a full session becomes the official Challenger.
Challenges are played as doubles.
The Challenger may select any available player as their partner.
The Challenger may also choose which player they want to challenge.
The selected partner is only participating as the Challenger's partner for the match.
Only the official Challenger is competing for a session spot.
The partner does not gain or lose a session spot based on the result of the Challenge Match.
The Challenge Match consists of one game to 11 points.
The result of that game determines whether the Challenger earns a spot.
Each tryout slot is limited to 30 minutes.
Challengers are encouraged to arrive early and be ready to play.
3. If the Challenger Wins
The Challenger earns a spot in the current session.
The Challenger replaces the specific player they officially challenged.
The challenged player gives up their session spot.
The total number of players remains at the 44-player maximum.
The Challenger's partner does not receive an additional spot because of the win.
Example:
A Challenger selects a partner and officially challenges a Benchmark Player.
If the Challenger's team wins:
Challenger IN → Challenged Player OUT
The Challenger's partner keeps their existing status and is not affected by the replacement.
4. If the Challenger Loses
The challenged player successfully defends their spot.
The challenged player remains in the session.
If the session has already reached the 44-player maximum, the Challenger cannot enter or play in that session.
The Challenger's partner is not affected by the loss.
The Challenger may try again during the next available session.
If Challenger wins → Challenger takes the challenged player's spot.
If Challenger loses → Challenged player keeps the spot.
5. Late Arrival & Availability
Challengers and challenged players are expected to arrive on time.
If the Challenger arrives late and misses the scheduled Challenge Match, the challenge may not proceed.
If the selected Benchmark Player is late or unavailable, the Challenger may choose another available player to challenge.
If both players are late and the challenge cannot be completed within the available period, the Challenge Match will not proceed.
Challenge Matches must not delay or interfere with the regular session.
6. Challenge Attempts
There is no permanent limit on how many times a player may attempt to enter the group.
If a Challenger loses, they may return during the next available session and challenge again.
A previous loss does not prevent a player from trying again in the future.
Every new Challenge Match provides another opportunity to earn a spot.
7. Ranking System
Rankings are based on results from previous group sessions.
More wins than losses → +1 ranking increment
More losses than wins → -1 ranking increment
Equal wins and losses → ranking remains unchanged
Example — Current Rank: 3
2 Wins / 1 Loss → +1
0 Wins / 3 Losses → -1
1 Win / 1 Loss → No Change
The updated rankings are used to determine player positions for future sessions.
8. Moving Up & Benchmark Status
Winning more games helps players improve their ranking and move higher in the group.
Losing more games may move a player lower in the ranking.
The bottom 4 ranked players become the current Benchmark Players.
As rankings change, any player can become a Benchmark Player.
Benchmark status simply represents the current entry level of the group and is not a permanent player classification.
9. The 44-Player Limit
A session can have a maximum of 44 players.
When fewer than 44 confirmed players are participating, available spots may be filled according to the group's normal entry process.
When all 44 spots are filled, a Challenger must successfully win a Challenge Match to earn a spot.
A successful Challenger replaces the specific player they challenged; no additional spot is created.
If the Challenger loses, the 44 confirmed players remain unchanged.
10. Payment, Waitlist & Challenger Status
Payment & Registration
Payment confirms registration, but does not automatically guarantee a playing spot when more than 44 players register.
The session has a strict maximum of 44 players.
The Challenge Match system is activated only when more than 44 players have registered for the session.
Waitlisted Players
Waitlisted Players are known/ranked players who are already recognized within the group's ranking system.
Waitlisted Players may pay the session entry fee while waiting for their final session status.
When more than 44 players register, the group will prioritize players according to the established ranking system.
Players ranked 45th and below for that session automatically become Challengers and must earn a place through a Challenge Match.
Requested Players / New Players
Requested Players are players who are not yet known or ranked within the group.
Requested Players may still pay the session entry fee to register.
If the session exceeds the 44-player limit, an unranked Requested Player automatically becomes a Challenger.
The Challenger must successfully complete the Challenge Match process to earn a place in the session.
Once a player establishes a ranking through the group's normal process, that ranking may be used for future session placement.
When More Than 44 Players Register
Before the session begins, the confirmed registration list will be reviewed according to the group's ranking system.
Ranked Players 1–44 → Session Priority
Ranked 45th and below → Challenger Status
Unranked / Requested Players → Challenger Status when the session is full
Being registered or having paid does not override the 44-player maximum.
Challengers must follow the official Challenge Match rules to earn one of the 44 available spots.
A successful Challenger takes the spot of the specific player they challenged.
The total number of active players remains at 44 maximum.
Refund for an Unsuccessful Challenge
A Challenger may pay the entry fee before their Challenge Match.
If the Challenger wins, their payment applies to the session and they take the challenged player's spot.
If the Challenger loses and therefore cannot participate because the session is already full, their session entry fee will be refunded.
The challenged player keeps their session spot.
WIN → Entry fee applies → Challenger joins the session.
LOSE → Cannot enter the full session → Entry fee refunded.
No-Show Policy
A player who has paid and secured a session spot is expected to attend.
If a confirmed player does not show up for the session for any reason, the entry fee will not be refunded.
Players who know they cannot attend are encouraged to inform the organizers as early as possible so session arrangements can be adjusted.
No-show = No refund.
Payment Does Not Override Ranking
Payment is used to confirm registration and participation arrangements. It does not allow a player to bypass the ranking or Challenge Match system when the session exceeds 44 players.
The goal is to keep the process fair, transparent, and consistent while giving every player an opportunity to compete for a session spot.
