Also known as: bocah.
Originally an Indonesian colloquial term referring to a child or youngster, bocil has been redefined by Bocil Pickleball Club (BPC) to represent a player at the beginning of their pickleball journey—one who embraces learning, disciplined practice, and the relentless pursuit of improvement.
The term became associated with a training-focused community established to provide a dedicated environment for structured drilling, purposeful practice, and collective development, founded on the belief that mastery is earned through consistency rather than talent alone.
Today, bocil represents more than a beginner—it embodies a mindset of humility, discipline, resilience, and continuous growth. Every accomplished player was once a bocil.
