1. Our Club, Our Community
Welcome to Pick a Friend Club Pickleball, where everyone is welcome to play, have fun, stay active, and build lasting friendships through pickleball.
Our goal is simple: Play fair, be friendly, and make sure everyone feels included.
2. Club Rules and Etiquette
Be friendly. Welcome new players, introduce yourself, and help everyone feel comfortable.
Respect everyone. Treat fellow players, organizers, and opponents with kindness.
Share the court. Give everyone a fair opportunity to play, especially when courts are busy.
Play fairly. Make honest line calls and respect other players.
Keep a positive attitude. Encourage one another, accept mistakes, and avoid unnecessary arguments.
Respect court time. Be ready when it is your turn, and rotate promptly after your game.
Play safely. Wear proper court shoes, stay hydrated, and watch out for other players.
Keep the venue clean. Dispose of rubbish properly and take care of club equipment.
Show good sportsmanship. Harassment, bullying, cheating, and unsportsmanlike conduct are not welcome.
Remember: Winning is great, but friendship, respect, and good sportsmanship come first!
3. Pick a Friend rotation system
To help everyone meet new people and enjoy playing with different partners, the club may use this friendly rotation system.
Sign in. Add your name to the player list when you arrive.
Wait for your turn. Keep your paddle in the designated waiting area.
Mix and match. Rotate partners and opponents after each game whenever possible.
Play short games. When courts are busy, consider playing to 9 or using a time limit.
Give everyone a chance. Avoid repeatedly choosing only your regular friends or strongest players.
Rotate off the court. Once your game ends, leave the court promptly if others are waiting.
Welcome newcomers. Help beginners understand the rules and feel included.
Suggested club policy: Prioritize fair playing time and new friendships over keeping a winning team together.
4. Sportsmanship and Safety
For everyone's safety and enjoyment, please remember:
Shake hands or tap paddles after every game.
Call “out” only when you are reasonably certain.
Shout “Ball!” clearly if a ball rolls onto another court.
Never walk behind a court while a rally is in progress.
Stay hydrated and take breaks when needed.
Settle disagreements calmly. Ask the club organizer for help if necessary.
Stop playing immediately if someone is injured, and seek appropriate assistance.
