THE BLOC PICKLEBALL CLUB
The Meaning Behind Our Club Emblem
BLOC
Represents a group of people with different perspectives, ideas, and opinions in life, united by one common goal and interest. In the context of our club, that common interest is the enjoyment of playing pickleball.
The word Bloc also rhymes slightly with the word Black, one of the club’s official colours.
CIRCLE
Symbolises the ups and downs of life, much like the highs and lows we experience during gameplay. Whether we have a good game or a bad one, what matters most is to enjoy the experience. 😊
ROPE
Symbolises Teamwork, Strength, and Unity.
CHRISTCHURCH CATHEDRAL
A silhouette of the historic Christchurch Cathedral, representing not a religious affiliation but a local landmark. It symbolises the place where it all began, here in the heart of Christchurch, New Zealand.
A FERN LEAF
Represents New Zealand’s national identity through its iconic fern emblem.
THE SIX STARS
Represent the six original members who started it all, namely:
Lawrence Jr
Chq2
Kuya Nante
Ate Jenelle
Ate Radz
Kuya Mening 😎
STARS BENEATH THE CATHEDRAL
Represent the original members who built the group from simple and humble beginnings, playing Pay to Play at NPW.
The group was founded on the freedom to play whenever we wanted, enjoy fair games, share court-hire costs equally, and have the freedom to play the game our way.
PICKLEBALL BALL CANOPY
The silhouette of a pickleball ball covering the Cathedral symbolises that everyone in the group, regardless of status, beliefs, skill level, or background, is welcome and united by one main goal: to play pickleball and enjoy the game.
2026
Represents the year the club was established.
BLACK, WHITE, and GOLD.
The official colours of the Club.
Black and White: Symbolise Yin and Yang, representing opposites and the balance between them.
Gold: Represents a precious and valuable element, reflecting the pioneering members whose vision and efforts brought the Club to Life.
