👥 **WHO CAN JOIN?**

ALL UIC HS ALUMNI FROM ANY BATCH AND THEIR +1s ARE INVITED! ❤️

You may form your own squad of 4 players. Coming solo or don't have a complete squad? No worries! We can connect you with other players to help you form one.

All skill levels are welcome! Come for the competition, stay for the memories.

🎯 **BLACKOUT: MAGIC 4 — TOURNAMENT FORMAT**

• 28 players divided into 7 squads of 4.
• Doubles format: 2 vs. 2.
• Each squad competes to earn the most wins and become the BLACKOUT CHAMPION!
• Choose your fighters wisely. Strategy, teamwork, and smart player selection matter!

🧠 **MAGIC 4: CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTERS**

• Each squad selects 2 players for every game.
• The squad with FEWER WINS gets the advantage of choosing its 2 players SECOND, after the opposing squad has locked in its lineup.
• If both squads have the same number of wins, a coin toss determines who chooses second.
• Once announced, lineups cannot be changed.
• Players who just played in the immediately preceding game cannot be selected for the next game.
• Players currently playing on court cannot be selected for another simultaneous game.

🔄 **FAIR PLAY & PLAYER ROTATION**

EVERY PLAYER MUST GET A CHANCE TO PLAY!

• Captains must prioritize squad members who have not yet played in the current rotation.
• Once all 4 squad members have played in the current rotation, captains may choose any 2 eligible players for the next game, provided they did not play in the immediately preceding game.
• No player may be deliberately excluded to gain a competitive advantage.

⚠️ **PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS**

• Each confirmed violation of the player rotation or eligibility rules results in a ** -1 POINT deduction** from the squad's tournament score for each violation.
• The organizer has the final authority to verify participation, confirm violations, and enforce penalties.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🏆 **SCORING & CHAMPION**

• Every game win counts toward the squad's total wins.
• The squad with the most wins at the end of the competition is crowned the BLACKOUT CHAMPION!
• Ties are broken by point differential (points scored minus points conceded).
• If still tied, a sudden-death playoff game determines the winner.

🖤 **DRESS CODE: WEAR BLACK**

Black outfits are encouraged to match the BLACKOUT theme. Halloween accessories are welcome, but please make sure they are safe for playing.

👻 **SPORTSMANSHIP**

Play hard, laugh harder, and respect every player regardless of skill level. Keep the competition friendly, fun, and fair. Captains are responsible for following the rules, and the organizer's decisions on disputes are final.

🎃 **CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTERS. OUTSMART YOUR OPPONENTS. SURVIVE THE BLACKOUT!** 🏓🖤

See you on the courts, UIC HS Alumni Smashers!
