ASWANGAN SA DINK 2026
BPFC Halloween Special: Official Event Mechanics
I. EVENT OVERVIEW
Aswangan sa Dink 2026 is a Halloween-themed fun pickleball event organized by Batangas Picklers & Friends Club (BPFC), exclusively for its official members. This event aims to bring members together for a night of fun, camaraderie, strategy, and friendly competition, with a spooky twist!
II. TEAM COMPOSITION AND BRACKETING
✅The tournament will consist of 16 teams, with 6 players per team, for a total of 96 participants.
✅The 16 teams will be divided into 4 brackets, with 4 teams per bracket.
✅There will be no fixed pairs throughout the tournament.
✅Each team has the discretion to determine its Pair 1, Pair 2, and Pair 3 for every match, depending on its strategy.
✅A player may only play with one designated pair within a match. No player may switch partners or play with another pair during the same match.
✅Teams may field different pair combinations in subsequent matches, provided that all pairings comply with these rules.
III. ELIMINATION ROUND
A. Match Format and Scoring
✅The elimination round will follow a single round-robin format within each bracket. ✅Every team will play against the other three teams in its bracket.
✅All elimination matches will be played race to 31 points, using side-out scoring.
The no-deuce rule will apply. The first team to reach the required winning score wins the game, without the need for a two-point advantage.
Each team will field three pairs, with the following scoring targets:
Pair 1: Race to 11 points
Pair 2: Race to 21 points
Pair 3: Race to 31 points
✅Teams must complete the matches in the prescribed order, with Pair 1 playing first, followed by Pair 2 and then Pair 3.
✅The pair that reaches its assigned target determines the completion of its respective game.
✅Teams may change their pair combinations for every new match, subject to the no-partner-switching rule within a match.
B. Bato-Bato-Pik Rule
✅Before the match, both teams will participate in Bato-Bato-Pik.
✅The losing team in Bato-Bato-Pik will be required to reveal its designated Pair 1 and Pair 2 first.
✅The opposing team will then declare its corresponding pairs.
C. Qualification for the Quarterfinals
✅The elimination round will produce the top 2 teams from each bracket.
✅A total of 8 teams will qualify for the quarterfinals.
✅The final standings within each bracket will determine which teams advance.
IV. QUARTERFINALS
✅The 8 qualified teams will be paired through a random draw using a wheel.
✅Each quarterfinal match will feature one pair from each team.
✅Each team will have the discretion to select the pair that will represent it in the quarterfinals.
✅Quarterfinal matches will be played race to 11 points, using side-out scoring, with no deuce.
✅The winning teams will advance to the semifinals.
✅Players who have already competed in the quarterfinals may no longer participate in the semifinals. The remaining four players from each qualified team will be eligible to compete in the next round.
V. SEMIFINALS
✅The four winning teams from the quarterfinals will advance to the semifinals.
✅Each semifinal match will feature one pair from each team, selected from the four remaining eligible players.
✅Before the match, both teams will participate in Bato-Bato-Pik.
✅The losing team in Bato-Bato-Pik will be required to reveal its first pair.
Pair: 1-11
Pair 2: 11-21
✅No Deuce
✅The pair that competed in the quarterfinals is not eligible to play again in the semifinals.
✅The winners of the semifinal matches will advance to the championship match, while the losing teams will compete for third place.
VI. CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
✅The two semifinal-winning teams will compete for the championship title.
✅The championship match will follow the same format as the elimination round, with three pairs competing in succession.
The scoring targets will be:
Pair 1: Race to 11 points
Pair 2: Race to 21 points
Pair 3: Race to 31 points
✅Side-out scoring will apply.
✅Unlike the elimination round, the championship match will allow deuce. A team must win by a two-point advantage once the target score has been reached.
VII. BATTLE FOR THIRD PLACE
✅The two semifinal-losing teams will compete for third place.
✅Each team will select one pair to represent it in the bronze-medal match.
✅The match will be played race to 11 points, using side-out scoring, with no deuce.
✅The winner will be declared the third-place team.
VIII. GENERAL RULES
✅All participants must be official BPFC members.
✅Good sportsmanship, respect, and camaraderie must be observed throughout the event.
✅Teams are responsible for properly declaring their pairs before each match.
✅Once a match begins, players may not switch partners or transfer to another pair for that same match.
✅The event organizers reserve the right to resolve disputes, clarify rules, and make final decisions on matters not explicitly covered in these mechanics.
Let the games begin! 👻🏓
May the best team survive the night at Aswangan sa Dink 2026!
