The serve and return set the stage — but it is the third shot that determines whether a player controls the rally or spends the rest of it reacting.

This open group coaching session focuses on that critical middle phase of the point: the journey from baseline into the kitchen. It is here that rallies are often won or lost, not through highlight shots, but through decisions made under pressure and movement done with control.

Players will learn how to navigate this phase with intention, choosing when to soften the ball, when to drive, and how to recover when the transition does not go as planned.

[🎯 Areas of Focus]

• Third shot decision-making (drop vs drive)
• Quality and consistency of third shot drops
• Transition zone movement and positioning
• Handling deep or aggressive returns
• Resetting under pressure during approach
• Maintaining control while moving forward
• Building structured entry into the kitchen

The session places an emphasis on repeatable patterns, guided correction, and applying transition skills under realistic rally conditions.

[👥 Suitable For]

Players who are comfortable with serve and return fundamentals and are ready to develop the ability to transition into the kitchen more consistently and with better control. Participants should already be able to sustain rallies and execute basic drops or controlled shots, even if not yet consistent.
